"Hey," she greets in return, straightening up from the counter just in time for Ever to close the distance between them, and whilst she should really stop the onslaught of his affections, of course she doesn't. "Ever," she scolds playfully nonetheless, her soft laughter betraying the upset she absolutely doesn't feel, until she manages to worm her arms around him to hold him close.
"I learned something today," she mumbles against his chest, pressing her eyes firmly closed. "Something I need to talk to you about. Is that okay?" Quite what Isla will do if he says no isn't something she's planned for, but regardless she peers up at him as if more than willing to drop the matter entirely should Ever decide he isn't in the mood for a conversation.
