After learning her lesson on being stingy with her abilities, Maea kept a blob of fire burning by her shoulder as she fell in behind her friends. Choosing to take up the sweep position and go last, she kept her eyes to all sides and occasionally turned around to stand motionless. So far nothing strange had come after them, though in the dense forest with deadly and dangerous flowers, a swaying bow or the slap of a vine might prove just as troublesome as any bite or sting from animals.
Far quicker to act this time, she expanded her flames to cover herself and Talyson, leaving Thalassa free to utilize the fire for her own protection if she so wished. She didn't try to catch the buzzing insects, exactly, they would just have to fly through flame to get to any of them. That sense of dread, though... Dry at the mouth and with her heart pounding hard in the chest, Maea reached out to keep a hand on Tal's shoulder, to make sure they didn't get separated.
"Do we go around, or cut the flower?" she wanted to know. Either way she was too far back to do much, save keep their backs free and the insects at a distance.
