Hadama's only response to Dahlia's courtesy was another nod, acknowledging her gratitude but keeping his thoughts and words to himself until Zavien needed information. Like Lena he spoke succinctly and then lapsed back into silence, watching the Reaper when he wasn't seeking for the missing Mr. Matas.

But one of the birds had responded to his voice before, so he settled to one knee on the cold stone of the cavern floor and called again in his low, quiet voice. "Mr. Matas. Here, Mr. Matas..."
