Thalassa
You could do anything,
if you only dared.
if you only dared.
Thal was able to keep a solid hold on the line, even as the creature started to regain its faculties. Her vice grip allowed Talyson to land a solid hit on the creature with his dagger, stripping away its life in the blink of an eye. Maea's support was appreciated, even if it was unnecessary, providing an emotional witness to the passing of the once majestic encantado. Now, they watched as the oily blood leaked onto the deck, painting it black and filling the area with the rancid smell of rot. Although the light drizzle still remained, it wasn't enough to rinse away the sticky substance or cleanse them of the sad truth of the Void.
Standing from her place on the rope, Thal didn't hesitate to resume shouting orders. The sailors were to dispose of the body while mopping up every drop of inky 'blood'. She didn't want it polluting her waters, so Thal instructed that it be burnt to an ashy heap. Nothing would remain by the time she was done with it.
As her instructions were being carried out, Thal turned to her honorary crewmembers with a smile. Her clothing was askew and her hair flew wildly around her face, giving her eyes a burning quality that told of the adrenaline rushing through her body. First, she looked to Maea. "I hear your sentiments, but until we find a way to purge the Void, I'll be happy to hunt down every last one." Her confident vibrato had her chest puffing and her eyes twinkling. Then, addressing the both of them, Thal said, "Thank you for your help. Although my crew is extremely capable, this" she gestured to the dying winds and snapped lines "would have been difficult with them alone." It was hard to show humility, but the assistance had more than paid off. Giving them a wide, mischievous grin, she set their course back to the docks. "I'll be sure to call on you again if more appear." She didn't mention that she would be willing to help them in exchange, should they only ask.
Congratulations! Thal, Maea, and Tal have defeated the Enshadowed Delphinid!
Thank you for participating!

And deep down, you know it too.
That’s what scares you most.
