Noah's roar just hurt. This roar reached inside his chest and twisted, leaching his determination and his anger at the void and leaving a black well of hopelessness behind. Tal staggered to his knees and even Evie's Healing couldn't rouse his fighting spirit in the aftermath of the attack.
In the wake of that roar, Tal knew that the Voidshade Ursur was too much for him to handle - too much for them all - and that they were doomed. Nothing short of a miracle could save them now, and he wrapped his arms around himself and made a plea for help from a higher power to tip the scales.
