Instead he tried to use Evie's voice and his Goggles (if he was close enough) to orient himself and use his body and armour shield her from both friendly fire and Void blasts.
"Y'daft-- This thing isn't fuckin' Family," he hollered to the group as a whole. "'s just a fucked up Void critter! Everythin' works on critters! No better an' no worse!" Celestial, earth, fire, maracas (if you hit hard enough with them) - the stupid bear would take damage from them all, or he'd eat his left boot!
Tal attempts to shield Evie this round from whatever damage comes her way! Also, more yelling.
