It's a smooth swap-out, and Luka watches with arched brows as his dad lays waste to the ants that come trailing out from the foliage. He wonders at the purpose of the infection, and the way it seems to compel all manner of creatures and beasts to devour, even when faced with impossible odds. Like a rabies-infected animal that can no longer feel things like self-preservation or trepidation. It's a chilling thing to witness as a hunter.

Readily handing over the jar to be sealed twice more, Luka takes the larger bundle into his hands and is only mildly surprised by what follows. His dad is a busy man in his own right, and Luka does not want for time with him given how closely the Lovi family keeps each other, so it's not a heartbreaking idea. He'll surely see him back home within the evening, or the next at the most. "Yeah, of course. Though I'm old enough now that I don't need Pad to babysit me anymore," he points out with a roguish smirk, far from offended by his dad's protectiveness.

Stepping in for a firm hug, Luka bumps his temple against his dad's. "Love ya pops. Come home safe." Pulling away with a departing smile, Luka looks for Pad and calls him over with a call of his name. "C'mon Pad, let's get home." With his position headed for Halo, Luka secures the jar-of-jars in his pack and sets off back to the Citadel.
