Thalassa
Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
And there are many paths to tread
Leaning against the tree, her body tensed imperceptibly at the new term, but Thal gave him a humorless smile to disguise it. At least Astaroth got the hint and offered up the song without complaint. She could tolerate the discomfort if the song was worth it, so she waited patiently for him to begin, watching as he began filling in the hole.
His singing voice was better than she'd expected, resonating comfortably in her chest and causing her eyes to drift closed in appreciation. She was tempted to once again join his tune with a lively harmony, especially since the celebratory nature practically cried for it. However, Thal was too invested in learning the lyrics to compromise it. She'd never had difficulty remembering melodies or words when they were put to song and as his voice faded out, she already had the piece committed to memory, small ideas of creative embellishment already coming to mind. The last lines hit home and brought a smile to her face.
Opening her eyes again, Thal looked to the Ancient and nodded her head approvingly. "Not bad." Her tone still held a healthy level of snark, but the deal had been a good one and she didn't mind giving him a slightly more genuine smile, one singer to another. "A Hollowed Ground anthem." It was the highest praise she could offer without giving too much ground and she shrugged her shoulders like the comment was a fleeting thought, meanwhile, her mind circled around the idea of an official Hollowed Ground song.
Thal let her eyes drift away from the Ancient and the disappearing golden seed to the surrounding islands, their varying shapes and sizes peeking out from the crystal blue waves. She recalled the Enshadowed Delphinid she'd hunted with Maea and Tal in these very waters just weeks ago. Without much thought, she asked, "Do you think these seeds will actually make a difference?"

Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Until the stars are all alight.
