Aurelia

Aurelia's gaze swept over the young soldier, her discerning eye noting the details beneath his casual attire. His lean physique, hinted at beneath the loose black pants and sleeveless shirt, spoke of disciplined training and a life dedicated to physical prowess. The silver dragon pin, a symbol of the Dragoons, glinted in the sunlight, a reminder of the unwavering loyalty and courage expected of those who bore its emblem.

Young, she thought, but there's a strength in his eyes.

His warm smile, though tinged with a touch of caution, disarmed her. It was a welcome contrast to the coldness she had expected, a reminder that kindness and compassion still existed in this world, even amidst the encroaching darkness.

As he extended his hand, Aurelia returned the gesture, her grip firm and steady. Her own hand was weathered and scarred from years of... well, simply trying to survive against all odds.

"Aurelia Murlow," she replied, her voice carrying a quiet confidence that belied the simple tunic and worn leather boots she wore. The sword given to her by Safrin was strapped securely to her back. "And yes, I've come to train. Specifically, I'm looking for someone to help me with my sword work. If that's... allowed, of course." She wasn't a Dragoon, and she wasn't sure about their policies regarding non-Dragoon training. But this was probably one of the best places she could go to learn.

She met his gaze, her own eyes framed by sun-kissed strands of unruly hair. A spark of curiosity flickered within them. Koa Carpenter, she repeated the name in her mind, committing it to memory. He seemed eager, earnest, perhaps even a touch idealistic. A far cry from the hardened warriors and jaded veterans she had encountered in her past.

"I recently acquired this blade and, although I've had some practice on my own, I'm far more familiar with hand-to-hand or throwing daggers. Any chance you'd be willing to spar with a newbie? Maybe show me a few tricks?" She offered a hopeful smile.
So leave me and tell me what I already know
That I trialled and I failed and it's good to let it go
