A slash of blood appeared, seeping into the ridges of the wooden exterior and the allogator roared in pain. Ready to prepare another strike, he pulled back, only to realize that his blade had become stuck in the natural wooden armor. Unable to escape its rage without losing his sword, Zavien had to sidestep the snapping jaws that attempted to remove his foot from his leg. His hand clung to the hilt like a lifeline, or a poorly constructed leash on a very angry puppy.
