Yes, he was meant to be a protector for them all, but Remi had never been one to let his family suffer for the greater good. For the time being, though, with Flora pressed behind him, it'd likely do more harm than good to sweep her away now.

Remi yells, his voice carrying out across the sands if for no other reason than to hopefully encourage Jack and Sah to back the fuck away (not that they could because of timelines, but the thought's there). Though Noah's roar was invisible, Remi had seen it in action before and knew roughly what shape it took. With a little positioning from the Forsaken he should be able to pull it off, but if not, I can take the hit.

Yes, it would hurt, but that sort of thing was precisely why he was here instead of Ronin.
