He managed to get most of the way disentangled from his frenemy before Sah could wrestle the spear around, but it still struck a glancing blow against his kneecap that had the courier swearing under his breath and flailing a somewhat off-target slash towards one of the hands holding the spear - with the blade itself in such close quarters, rather than with its distance-magic.
