"No, not any of that," Jack snips out, as if he can wave away the barrage of questions she thinks at him, the captain left almost glaring down at her in the moonlight, his tanned skin made pale by the bleak light overhead. "Or... despite that, I should say."
Hating that she's slumped to sit down because it either means he needs to join her or talk awkwardly down at her - something he might relish doing to other people, but Flora no longer makes the cut, as it happens - Jack eventually settles into a crouch in front of her, forearms resting on his knees.
"If I say to you right now that you're right, that I've been pushin' you away this entire time and that I've been choosing not to give whatever this is between us the sort of attention it deserves... if I say Flora, I'm sorry, or Flora, I'll do better... is that even somethin' you want?" He tilts his head. "Or is it better if I just get up and walk away?"
