Thalassa
You could do anything,
if you only dared.
if you only dared.
Thal found it peculiar that the woman seemed so eager to please, especially considering the lack of fear in her eyes. Not that it mattered to her in the end. While she waited to see if the redhead held up to her words, she relaxed back into the sand, unconcerned either way. If she returned, wonderful, more free tarts. If not, she'd have a fun little game of chase before getting back to the ship.
When the woman returned with plenty of sweets in hand, Thal wasn't particularly surprised. She stood slowly to accept the offering. Inspecting the small desserts, she nodded. "Very well, however, you took so long that the sun is already setting, and I have business to attend to." She pocketed the items, ready to dismiss the exchange and return to the awaiting candidates.
Letting her eyes run down the length of the woman, she committed the name to memory with narrowed eyes, determined to avoid her in the future. "Captain Thalassa Sanguis of The Marauder." If the woman was new to the area, she might not immediately recognize the name, but she had no doubt Cat would eventually hear her reputation for piracy.
Done with the interaction, she turned to leave when a thought had her pausing. Astaroth had already agreed to join her in weeding out candidates, and she could use another input, not that she valued any of this woman's opinions, but the idea of an annoyingly talkative woman pestering them gave her the idea to use it as a test in and of itself. Their response to Cat might give a good idea of their 'morality' and whether they'd make a good fit.
Smiling mischievously, Thal turned back around. "Actually, I feel that you still owe me. With all the time you wasted, it's only right that you pay me with your own time." The sun lowering in the sky seemed to confirm her statement. A small flick of her cloak flashed her daggers underneath. It was more of a demand than a request. "I have a set of first mate candidates that need vetting. Help me and I'll consider your debts paid, then I'll drop you off wherever you want." It was a generous offer filled with far less danger than she would usually prefer.

And deep down, you know it too.
That’s what scares you most.
