The banshee didn't appear to notice them as it turned to another part of the glade. With its attention diverted, Zavien didn't discourage Lena's hushed tone in his ear. He nodded along with her plan, sure that it was a good idea to put some more distance between them and the haunted creature. Even if there wasn't a risk of it attacking them, he didn't have any desire to be near the creepy imitation of a happy bride. However, he wasn't super excited for the Caretaker to be out of reach in case it decided to target her. So, as he lifted his hand from her shoulder, he gave her a worrying look and added, "Be careful."
Once she had shifted and flown off, Zavien returned to a crouch, keeping his eyes glued to the graceful shifting movements of the banshee. It screamed again as it made its way farther through the grasses. When its back was completely turned, he began to stalk slowly up the bank of the stream, weaving through the tall reeds to disguise his retreat. A mental command to Sol had him sneaking behind, the glittering gold of his scales hidden by the shadows of the foliage. With any luck, the danger would continue the opposite direction, allowing them to escape any possible encounters.
