Whatever summer romance this was, it would disappear by Deepfrost, and gods knew they'd gone longer than a few seasons without seeing their daughter before, terrible as that was. They could be there to help pick up the pieces if not to say I told you so.
"Maybe I'll write to Sunjata and Hotaru about it, just so that they're aware. It'll give us something to talk about at dinner if nothing else." A dinner they really ought to schedule sooner rather than later at this rate.
