It was a good sign that she wasn't immediately leaving the table or slapping him, but she still seemed to slightly misinterpret the meaning behind his ramblings. "That's not -" He let out another groan, lifting his second hand from Sol to rub along his brightening face. "Maybe 'politeness' wasn't the right word..." The issue was that he wanted to be too near her, but how was he supposed to say that he didn't want to make her feel obligated to anything out of her comfort zone? This was just the beginning, but he already hoped for them to have a future together. However, that didn't mean he wanted to rush anything. He didn't yet know where she stood on the physical comfort level. As much as he wanted her in his house, in his bed, he didn't want her to think that was the only thing on his mind. Maybe he did need to work on his insinuations and implications. And maybe this wine was a touch too strong.
