It had all taken time, but he had worked with his usual methodical determination to pursue his quest for Safrin in the midst of it all, and now he returned to place an offering on the underwater altar in the hopes that his goddess would approve of what he had accomplished since his last visit.
There was always more to do, but for this night he could allow himself to be selfish and bask in his lady's celestial light, away from the pressures of his mortal life.
