Leaving Sol to his contained antics, Zavien tried to see what Lena saw, scanning for what could possibly be improved. And although he still didn't see it, he gave her a "Well, it's a good thing you've got extra hands to help!" He'd be here all day - all week - if she needed. Whatever would help make her home everything she'd dreamed of.
As he made his way through the gate, Zavien took the kiss on the cheek with all the grace of a balloon, turning bright red and swaying like a breeze might knock him over. A squeak may have even sounded as he cleared his throat to respond. "That's great." Luckily, she was flitting through the door, leading the way, hopefully missing the bashful look on his face. A note was definitely made in his mind to bring flowers as a habit.
Following her into the kitchen, Zavien admired the cozy atmosphere that fit her personality so well while taking note of any pieces that still needed assembling. He nearly asked where to start before she was presenting him with something. Accepting the cards, curiosity twinged at what they might be for. As she spoke, he realized that he didn't have to strain as hard to read the words, surprised to see ingredients, measurements, and steps for different meals easily legible. His smile was excited and completely sincere as he looked back at her. "These are really great, Lena! Thank you." There weren't any signs of offense or overstepping, but Zavien did feel nervous. He didn't think he'd be able to do the recipes any justice; after all, he could probably burn water even if given the proper directions. Laughing lightly to disguise the bit of vulnerability, he asked, "Maybe you could walk me through a few of them at some point?"
