Having already learned that Jack's wirey frame wasn't just for show, as the captain rolled and began to get to his feet, the demigod braced himself for another hit. There wasn't any point in trying to dodge, not least of all because Jack was faster, but as the captain had reminded him, this literally was what Vesper had agreed to.
Grunting as his shoulder was struck, rather than rubbing the bruise which was quickly forming instead the demigod tried to lash out with his own punch, aiming for the same spot on Jack's shoulder. It was an uncoordinated effort at best, this being the first time he'd ever actually tried to hit anything before, but you know, beginners luck or whatever.
