Anahita

True.

In an instant the coin'd flipped and the stranger had become the cat, eyes narrowed and claws drawn. Ana simply raised her arms in defense, the flick of her pronged tail silently acknowledging the rise in tension.

"Just saving you the trouble. There's nothing out here." The stag she'd been stalking was long gone now and the waters beneath the bone-built bridges flowed slow and eerily serene. "You're the most interesting thing out here." She drawled, letting her arms fall and crossing them as she stepped up to casually lean against a tree.

Easily, subtly, underneath crossed arms, a hand slipped into the folds of her coat. When the tips of her fingers brushed against the smooth hilt of her skinning knife her tail gave another anticipating flick.

It was hard to tell, but it was possible that she had poked where she shouldn't. There was no way to know how far in the throes of bloodlust the other girl was, and there were proverbs about situations like that - meant to teach young Ancients valuable tactics on preserving life and limb.

And so Ana donned a pleasant smile, the one you might see on the face of a good-mannered country girl as she greets her neighbors in the morning. The chill in the air even gave a nice blush to Ana's cheeks. The picture of innocence - or at least the Ancient's best rendition. And if that wasn't enough to ease tensions... well, she can say she tried.
