secret moments in a crowded room

Alys hadn't spent much time around smiths, carrying only a small dagger of her own and, occasionally, a bow in the way of weaponry. She hoped that this woman was talented; at least she seemed to know her way around the forge. She had to, Alys supposed, if she was to travel and earn her coin. For a moment, the seer felt they were something of kindred spirits to the other, always on the move looking for their next source of income. She perused the smith's wares as the woman described them, her eye drawn to the weapon called the Kris. If she was purchasing for herself, she would go for something simpler, something made for self-defense; but her partner, Tal, tended to get into more trouble than she did, and it was common for him to have to fight his way out. Perhaps he would find some use in such a weapon. Chuckling at the woman's words, Alys pointed to the Kris. "Perhaps something like this?" she mused aloud. "It's a gift for my partner. He fights a great deal more than I do, and he already has weapons, but I've never seen him with something like that before. Is it better to buy something premade or get something custom that's made specifically for him?" She could imagine that a weapon tailored to an individual would be more effective, but she'd be the first to admit she was no expert. alys glasse
