It's about 50/50, he thinks, that the butcher will trip and go down, but what the Maverick hasn't accounted for is that he might not let him go in the process. Instinctively, wouldn't you know, Danta really doesn't want to tumble onto the floor, so he pulls away as Asta pulls down.

"That doesn't feel right," he tells him in a tight voice that tries valiantly to stay calm about it.
