the bastion
Heavy like a landslide
That's the way my heart beats now
The words that spill from Jack's lips don't surprise Remi. Cheap shots came far too easily between the pair, and though he's sure there's truth in the words, they're as unnecessary as they are predictable. The fact that the captain does reach for his hand has fractures of surprise shooting through Remi's thoughts, and as Jack's emotions surge forward, the fractures split open revealing chasms the likes of which the Bastion was entirely unprepared for.

What he feels...it, and gods help him for it, reminds him of Ronin; it reminds him of himself. The guilt and lingering feelings of failure that still plagued his husband, the relentless march towards retribution, and, all too familiar, the way love could be moulded into something too sharp and piercing. Releasing the captain's hand slowly, Remi eyes the other man silently, still reeling from the familiarity of his touch. His hatred of the captain now felt like a piece of cardboard placed in an empty window frame; entirely ineffective and good for nothing much more than being an eyesore.

Smirking, Remi lifts his eyebrows and gives his head a slight shake. "Flora does." He counters with a shrug, leaning back in his chair and lifting the glass to his lips. "Speaking of.." Says Remi Taliesin, the Segue King. "..I don't want to fight with you, Jack. It's..." Pausing, he glances toward the sea and wrinkles his nose slightly. "..possible that I overstepped with you and Flora, and now that I'm back on my side of things, I intend to stay here."
Up until the last sunrise
I'll be reaching for you
Code blatently stolen from queen of codes, Sky!
Speaks with a thick Italian accent.
Force and magic can be used against Remi without permission.
