The only movement was the ocean breeze. Sohalia sat for a while, watching the coconut with slowly dimming hope. For some reason, she'd really thought that Safrin would appear in all her starlit glory, but the longer she waited, the more ridiculous that sureness seemed.
After enough time had passed that she was sure Safrin wasn't coming, Sohalia straightened the coconut on the shrine and slowly left, casting one last look over her shoulder. Perhaps Safrin was simply busy, or perhaps the goddess hadn't liked the offering... but she supposed it could be worse. She could have been cursed.
She'd have to try again, that was all. And hope for better luck next time.
