I don't want to wonder if this is a blunder
Pipsqueak, simple creature that she is, is readily appeased by treats. Gobbling down the jerky with wild abandon, she makes no effort to stop the Honeybee from making her escape, nor to further alert any below as to the demigod's whereabouts.
By the time she makes it back to Koa, the trickster is long gone. "Traitor," Koa mutters as the dragon clambers onto his shoulder, the tell-tale smell of jerky ripe within her mouth. "So she's gone, then? Figures." Grumbling, the young captain turns back to his assembled peers, shrugging his shoulders helplessly. "Guess we better start getting these down, though..."
Pulling the balloon that's stuck on his back into his hands, the young man draws an invisible line down the beak of the duck. "Maybe it can wait a bit," he finishes with a fond smile, slightly charmed by the mischief despite (or perhaps because of) the chaos it's brought to his day.
