"I'll speak to them, then update you." Rubbing his fingers over the charcoal, he doesn't notice the sooty stain taking over his fingertips. "Is there a good way for us to stay in contact? Something... discrete?" Readjusting the gripped implement, he scribbles.
I've heard about two-way parchments. Any chance you have some handy?
