Letting the softer, equally tired smile twist on the corner of his face Sunjata lets the Knight clasp him on the shoulder before he’s exhaling the drag off the smoke, watching curiously (and a touch anxiously, he isn’t going to lie) when Ronin starts rummaging in the satchel on his shoulder. His apprehension is admittedly a bit of an overreaction as the rum is revealed and he takes it with a soft snort.
The cigarette slants in between his lips as he meets Ronin’s gaze and the weak smile, his tattooed shoulders shrug a little as he does – in fact – open the bottle to give it a whiff. “Honestly that’s not… something I’ve thought too much about. So if you’re beating yourself up over it, I’m glad you did it.” He offers, accented tones rumbling over the words as his steel gaze focuses on the Knight before trading the cigarette for a taste of the rum – very pleased with the result (and how it would likely do a good deal to distract him from everything else for the moment).
“I uh, just want it known that I was trying to help. With the Refuge, when it happened.” Shivers spark feathers to flicker across his shoulders briefly before he tamps it down and they vanish again with the deep drag of the cigarette he takes as he offers the bottle out to Ronin. “I know with the war and stuff that people question my allegiances sometimes, but… I didn’t want to be a friend of the Family.” Not until Dahlia had kissed him (as you’ll likely soon see Ronin :X )
