Having assumed the woman had literally vanished, it hadn't occurred to Nova to use her feline sense of smell to find where she might be hiding. She may have spent a lot of time in her shift, but she was still getting used to the other perks besides 'sharp claws and teeth.' So when there wasn't a target to hit, she found herself ignoring her shift by spinning in circles then stalk off.
However, the boop on her forehead certainly changed her understanding of the situation. Her hand flew up to swat away nothing, confusion rolling into suspicion. The woman was still here but invisible. As if a lightbulb had been struck by lightning in her brain, Nova came to the revelation suddenly and forcefully. "Hey! That's not fair!" Would she have done the exact same thing? Duh. Did that mean this woman should be allowed to prance around completely invisible? Absolutely not.
Much less elegantly this time, Nova's Tide Jaguar form emerged to face... nothing. How was she supposed to find someone who was invisible? Tail flickering, she scrunched her nose with annoyance, promptly catching a scent that had her head whipping. She lunged forward with uncontained rage - and landed in a patch of thick snow with nothing to show for it. Perhaps the wind had sent her an old trail, or maybe her lunge came up short, but whatever the reason, Nova had missed completely.
