Shaking some snow from her head, Nova quickly returned to her feet to crouch at the ready. When she spotted nothing, she jumped to face another way, and another. Until a Tide Jaguar appeared before her. But not just any Tide Jaguar, her exact image. She had to blink her eyes a few times to ensure it wasn't just her reflection, yet the other cat didn't do the same, grinning suspiciously.
It suddenly lunged for her side, taking her enough by surprise to prevent escape. Although she'd tumbled and wrestled with her sister in the exact same way, they didn't use teeth, so when they sank into her fur and straight through, Nova let out a yowl of pain so loud it startled any birds that had been weathering the storm. She'd never felt the sharp, burning sensation of injury that radiated from her side. It was so blinding and unknown that she could barely catch her breath. Was she dying? Was this the end? What were her siblings think? Would they miss her?
Through the Attuned bond (whether or not Mel could hear it), she screeched and screamed, beside herself with pain and agony. The only words that seemed to filter through the deafening sounds were short and broken. OOOOWAAA!! Let GOOOO! AAAAH!!!! That HUUUUUURTS! Summoning enough instinctual energy to fight back, Nova slashed out with her claws and teeth like a madwoman, trying to catch anything to release the excruciating pain in her side.
