But then he has to concentrate so as not to slip on his ass and cripple himself anew, managing little more than a huff of laughter in response to the butcher; he doesn't feel at all devilishly handsome right now, leaning against his lover unashamedly as they go down. He hasn't noticed the subtle transition as Asta withdraws so far into himself so as to be something completely different, but the remarks purred into his ear are enough to have his cheeks heating and his mouth going dry.

"They're only stairs," he protests with a coy smile up at the butcher, raising an eyebrow at him. "Are you alright?" Relieved when they reach the Last Whisper properly, he barely registers the bustle and lights that surround them even at this time of night, more interested in the man before him.
