Remi pulls his dark blue sweater tighter around his shoulders, the soft fabric offering scant protection against the Deepfrost that blankets Haulani's floating city. A knitted scarf, wrapped snugly around his neck, sways gently in the chilly breeze as he approaches the northeastern edge of the city, toward where Hadama had said he'd be. The circle of torches cast long, flickering shadows across his path, their warm glow a stark contrast to the biting cold that nips at his nose and ears.
As he neares, Remi inhales deeply, the familiar scent of saltwater mingling with the earthy aroma of morning. His eyes scan the budding crowd, spotting
