I need you like god needs the devil, honey
Vesper's smirk lingers, slow and knowing as he shifts his weight against the sand. "I might happen to know the right brewers," he drawls, his voice easy, smooth—too smooth. A practiced kind of nonchalance that hints at all the things he isn’t saying. He flicks a speck of coconut from his fingers, his expression utterly unbothered but his tone rich with implication. " 'Course, depends what you're lookin' for." The look he gives her then—something subtle, something just a touch wicked—suggests he knows a whole lot more than just where to find coconut rum.
His nose wrinkles at the mention of hunkering down for LongNight, his lips pulling into something bordering distaste. "Sittin' around, waiting for the days to come back?" He exhales sharply, almost scoffing. "Sounds like a slow death." And from the way his gaze flickers, restless and sharp even as he lounges against the warmth of the sand, it's clear that Vesper has never been one to sit still when the world is waiting to be lived in.
But before he can say anything more, the night is punctuated by a sudden burst of sound farther up the beach; a loud pop followed by a scattered chorus of cheers and laughter. A brief silence hangs in the air before another one rings out, this time paired with a dazzling display of gold and red fire blooming against the inky sky.
Vesper glances up, watching as the fireworks flare to life in shimmering arcs, their glow reflecting against the waves. His lips curve slightly, the corner of his mouth twitching as he turns back to Rhiannon. "What d'you say?" He tips his head toward the display, the light catching against the cool blue of his eyes. "Wanna go see what the fuss is about?"
