When the two men go about their business, Lyra links arms with Noe and tows her along the food table, stopping to gather a plate and begin to fill it with various goods. ”You seem to be enjoying yourself,” she says to Noe, smiling affectionately at the girl. ”Is this your kind of scene?”

There’s food everywhere, and Lyra’s plate is full before she knows it. She waits for Noe to gather her own smorgasbord and then makes her way over to a table with her young friend, listening to the girl chatter all the while.
