Thal would have asked more, but then Maea was approaching. Although not 'surprised' by her presence, the Captain's smile thinned somewhat. She was still processing her emotions around the pale Ancient's return.
Dipping her head in greeting to Maea, she snagged a few sweets from a table as she followed the Mer King. "I only just arrived, but the food and dancing look enjoyable." Thal popped a brownie into her mouth. It melted perfectly on her tongue while she sat down, surveying the feast. "And you?" Her eyes flit to Maea, curious if others had been surprised by her arrival.
