With the return of the sun, Alys had determined that she would learn to live for Sascha rather than die without her, and so she found herself once more in Ludo’s Woods, knelt before the shrine to Ludo and Mort. This time she had brought a small tarot card, custom made and hand drawn, labeled with a single word: Death. On it was depicted a dark, hooded figure holding out a skeletal hand, on which a bright orange butterfly perched. Even in death, there were new beginnings; her cards had shown her that time and again, and it was to that which she clung with all her strength as they emerged after a harrowing LongNight.
The seer propped her offering on the shrine, careful of the candles burning nearby, and bowed her head. ”Hi, Mort. It’s me again. I don’t know if you’re listening, but if you are, and if Sascha is with you… I just want to make sure she’s taken care of. I want her to know that I miss her, and that I’d do anything in my power to get her back. If you could just… pass on the message, that would be great,” she prayed softly. She wasn’t really expecting a response - after all, Mort was surely busy, and she’d done nothing to garner his attention. But still, if even the gist of her message was passed along to her beloved companion, that would be enough for her.
