Alys looked up at the sound of an unfamiliar voice, tensing. She hadn't expected to run into company, and she was wary of anyone she didn't know. The man approaching was blonde and tall, with a kind smile and tired eyes. She wasn't sure who he was, but she wasn't taking any chances. She'd been through enough in recent seasons not to let her guard down just because some stranger smiled at her.
"I'm fine," she said, holding her place in her notebook with a finger as she shut it and climbing to her feet. "I just wanted somewhere quiet to sit. I was working on a stupid poem." She leaned against the tree, trying to look nonchalant. "I know my way back." Maybe the stranger would leave her to her own devices. She wasn't sure she wanted company, anyway.
