flora
Flora snorts, barely resisting the urge to roll her eyes so hard they pop straight out of her head. She wraps both hands around her tea, letting the warmth of the delicate porcelain soothe some of the lingering tension from their encounter with Vox. She hadn’t quite shaken the feeling of being watched, but at least here, in the easy hum of the village, she could pretend.
"Gods, Soh," she groans, dramatic as ever, "I swear you just wait for the moment I’m finally relaxed before bringing him up." She sips her tea pointedly, as if fortifying herself before answering, then leans back in her chair, expression twisting somewhere between fond exasperation and quiet frustration. "It’s going great, if you like a relationship where one person does whatever the fuck they want and the other gets to slowly go insane waiting for them to give a single fuck." Her voice is breezy, casual, but there's an undercurrent of sharp-edged hurt beneath it. She lifts a hand, twirling her fingers vaguely in the air. "But, I mean, it’s Jack, right? I always knew what I was getting into."
Which was exactly what made it worse—that she’d known, had walked into it anyway, thinking—hoping—that maybe she’d be the exception.

I can't stop you putting roots in my dreamland
