Flora’s point is one that Asta already knows to be true, so it’s with no qualms that he tilts his horned head back toward her. “Oh, most definitely. She told me as much the last time we spoke. She’s terrified of becoming me, yet she has proven to be quite the different breed.” She couldn’t be the kind of monster the butcher was, regardless of her fears. If anything, she’d become something worse.
At least there was an end to the suffering the butcher inflicted.
“I hear she wishes to apologize to me for what happened. I think I am of the mindset to continue letting her stew over it.” He shrugs casually, reaching the door of the infamous Sparkbird’s Nest, opening the door for her to enter first before he follows.
