Noe's eyes flashed. She didn't have to try too hard to figure out what Koa had been going to say, and she was sick of everyone thinking it. Sure, Vox was a little strange. The whole tentacles-and-static thing didn't really tend to endear people to him. But he'd come to her taco party, he'd taken her to Starfall, and he tried so godsdamned hard to be human that it was hard not to like him.
"He is not," she muttered under her breath petulantly. If she had known that Koa was going to be like this, she might have thought twice about coming.
Koa gathered their luggage, and Noe huffed at his tone as he jutted his chin towards the dock. What was Koa's obsession with the damn hot springs? "You're very eager to go sit in some hot water," she pointed out mulishly, thinking that he was going to get himself into it even without the springs if he didn't tread carefully. "These better be the most majestic fucking hot springs we've ever seen."
