Flora shrugs, tilting her head thoughtfully as she leans a little more comfortably into Asta’s side. "I meannn...once upon a time." The queen hums sweetly, before crinkling her nose up at him and nudging him gently with her elbow. Whatever little crush she’d once had was nothing compared to the depth of fondness she had for him now—and gods, was she grateful that whatever had been between them had shifted into this instead.
At the mention of Maea, however, her expression darkens, the good humor slipping slightly as she lets out a slow, sharp exhale. "Yeah, well," she mutters. "The thing about her apologies is that they’re worse than just words. She doesn’t actually mean them. Like, when she apologized to me, she said the words, sure, but then she immediately started twisting the situation around so that, surprise! None of it was actually her fault."
Flora rolls her eyes so hard it's a miracle they don’t fall straight out of her skull. "I don’t know why she even bothers when we all know she isn't ever going to change," she huffs, before offering Asta a smirk that is, if nothing else, deeply, deeply amused as she steps past him into the Sparkbird’s Nest. "After her fake apology, she even offered, and I quote, to let me use her a scapegoat for Torchline if I let her stay?" Flora rolls her eyes. "Number one, who even says something like that? And number two, as if I'd be stupid enough to let her martyr herself on the pretense of her wanting to make amends only so that one day she could dramatically go tada! I'm not the bad guy, it's all actually Flora's fault."
