Alys had made a monumental mistake.
Her emotion magic ran amok, picking up not only on the hide and seekers, but also on the others gathered round - particularly as something started burning. Alys’s head snapped around, searching for the telltale sign of smoke that would give away the source of the fire, then started that way. The merchants were panicking, and she wasn’t keen to see half the forest burn to the ground in a gave of hide and seek - assuming, of course, that that was the source of the blaze.
Forgetting momentarily about the game, Alys headed for the merchant stalls, trying to see if there was anything she could do. If there were efforts to put out the fire, she would join those before it got out of control.
