Sing to me, I am not doing well
Getting tired of my own words
Warmth flooded Maea's chest. Reaching around the fire to squeeze Alys' arm, she wondered if the seer knew how much the gratitude went both ways. Emotional fireworks aside, that she was able to help her friend bring her companion back satisfied a very deepseated desire to helpful in the pale woman. Not only had she been able to speak of things that weighed on her soul, but it was for an incredible cause! Even the upturning of her worldview was not necessarily an evil. In order to move forward, sometimes you had to leave some things behind; here, tonight, that something might just turn out to be the shackles of self-loathing Maea had dragged around for nearly a decade.

"It means a lot to me that I was able to answer them," she replied sincerely. "I hope the rest of your quest goes swift and without problems; and that you succeed, however that ends up looking."

Sitting back, they resumed the mundane task of mending clothes. A quiet settled back over the glade, and any further conversation revolved around far more ordinary things. Travel, the warming weather, the likelihood of anyone finding a Vi's Rose within the season... It settled Maea's churning mind, and by the time she followed Alys back to the village and the waiting Peregrine, her thoughts had brightened with a new hope, similar to last time they parted. Fateweaver, indeed; Alys was that and more, to the Ancient vagabond. Mindclearer, Hopebringer, Friend – the jury was out on which epithet meant more.
