Alys
And I can still see it all in my mind
All of you, all of me intertwined
All of you, all of me intertwined
It was admittedly a lot to take in, but Tal listened and absorbed the tasks just as she'd known he would. At his quiet insistence that he be the one to dig up Sascha's body, Alys swallowed hard. "We'll do it together," she insisted softly, lowering a hand to stroke Boreal's horns as the dragon bumped into her. "You shouldn't have to do that alone, either." In this, her stubbornness would win out; it was, after all, her quest, and though she appreciated Tal's help (and a small part of her wanted to take him up on the offer), that wasn't something that she would subject him to.
Fortunately for Alys, Tal had met more people than she ever would, on his delivery routes, no doubt, and he was quick to offer up additional names for her to speak with. Ronin was a name that was familiar, though she'd never met the man. As for Maea, Alys hadn't realized that she'd died before, and the knowledge was met with a sharp intake of breath. Still, at least it gave her a place to start, and if either of them wouldn't talk to her, she'd keep looking until she found someone that would.
Tal's kiss on her cheek was met with a gentle smile. She could feel his joy, his hope, just as she could feel the darkness that festered beneath it all, the guilt for something that he should never have had to do. "We'll get her back," Alys promised, somehow managing to press herself even closer to her partner, as though her mere presence could chase the shadows away. It was the best she could offer - at least for now.

I once believed love would be black and white
But it's golden
But it's golden
