When Maea didn't respond to her accusation, she leaned into the strange dynamics of their relationship, a wide grin spread across her face. "I'm glad to hear no one else compares to me." Because gods knew they weren't the most functional of friends, always disagreeing or outright fighting, but it was their dysfunctional relationship, and she would cherish it.
Shrugging her shoulders, she pushed off from the tree, ready to depart from the clearing. "I'll walk you back." If only to prove to herself that nothing was lurking in the shadows, waiting to snag at Maea's hard-earned prize. She'd had too many moments where she let her guard down, only for some backwater ruffian to try stealing from her. It usually ended in them being unable to try something like that again, but she wasn't sure Maea would have the backbone to do the same.
As for their abandoned hunt, Thal chuckled. "You better." Her tone was threatening, but the smile on her face was teasing, not really caring one way or another.
