Accompanied by Frog, and their silent, wandering thoughts about the Family in general, Deimos snorted but continued moving. The sleds, full again, would continue to provide the necessary means and measures for their Citadel’s protection, and cutting through the rest of the populace was a bit more difficult with certain roads and pathways, but eventually, they wound their way to the western portion of the walled sections.
“All right, spread them again,” he directed – though they’d know the ritual and routine by now. Some of the branches and boughs were tangled with one another, and it’d take a bit of extra time to ensure they weren’t twisted, gnarled, and contorted once they were taken from the sleds.
