Vesper growls into her mouth—a low, frustrated sound dragged from somewhere deep in his chest. Her kiss is molten, insistent, and gods, does he want to answer it with everything he has. But his body, spent and slow to rally, betrays him in the moment, not yet ready to catch up to the fire she stokes so effortlessly. He grits his teeth, breaking the kiss with a soft curse. "Quick, is it?" he mutters, voice rough and wanting. Then, without another warning, he hooks an arm beneath her thighs and lifts her clean out of the water, slick skin pressed tight against his chest as he wades the short distance back toward the shore.
