the white knight
"You and me both," Ronin admits freely, his words mumbled against his husband's sweat-slick skin, his eyes still shut and his head tilting into the fingers that plunge into the back of his hair. Grumbling something affectionate - or perhaps a plea for Remi not to stop what he's doing - he plants a few kisses of his own along the line of muscle between his husband's neck and shoulder. "Then don't move," he whispers, cracking an eye open at last to regard the other man with playful challenge. "I'll hold you right here like this for as long as you want. Though I might end up with a cramp in my leg, I won't lie."
Still, no one can say he hasn't been through worse and then some in the name of the man he loves. As Remi's gratitude spills from his lips, though, Ronin can't help but raise his eyebrows in confusion, leaning in to leave a sweet kiss against his cheek. "Thank you," he echoes. For being there, for curing him, for never once faltering no matter how endless the darkness must have seemed at times.
As for the lily, though, Ronin snorts. "Nah," he says, sounding breezily confident. "Stealing my clothes as a trophy will seem much more important than any mythical cure-all lily."
