I don't know what I'm looking for
Vesper stretches out beside her like a cat in the sun, lazy and smug and thoroughly unrepentant. The heat of her still radiates from the sand beneath her, and the scent of salt and sex lingers thick in the air between them. Shadows curl loosely around his arms and ankles, no longer tense with hunger—just idling now, as sated as he is.
"Not too bad," he repeats, voice low and rough with amusement, like the compliment has been slow-roasted over a fire and he’s savouring the flavour. He props himself up on one elbow, eyes trailing shamelessly down her thoroughly wrecked form—the rise and fall of her chest, the flush high on her cheeks, the lazy sprawl of her limbs. He commits it all to memory, already storing it away somewhere private and dark to pull up later.
"Guess I'll have to go away and practice, huh?" he murmurs, grin crooking wider, though his voice softens as his fingers reach up to brush a strand of damp hair from her temple. He lets the backs of his knuckles trail down the side of her face, slow and lingering, not teasing now—just... there, before he's sighing and glancing out toward the horizon line. For a moment, he lets the silence stretch between them, broken only by the lull of waves and the distant cry of seabirds. The breeze is cooler now, the sun angling lower across the horizon, and he can feel the evening coming in slow and golden around them.
