RONIN
the white knight
light is easy to love.
"Of course she is - and you shouldn't ever think otherwise," Ronin says with a wry smile down into the dregs of his drink. "But there is a lot of history between your mother and I - nowhere near enough to get into right now - but rest assured that she likely feels the same way." That's a lie, actually; Ronin imagines, especially after Seren, that Safrin might miss him more than she wants to kill him, but y'know what? He'll take it.
Glancing up again in time to see the young woman at his side slouch towards whatever's left of her cocktail, Ronin's smile grows and he lets out a soft laugh. "I'm glad to hear it. I like you too, Nova. I think you might want one of those without the rum for your next drink, though." He nods at the daiquiri, and the barman is already starting to make it, in fact.
It's all fun and games until a buzz turns into something messy, after all. Not that he imagines Nova needs to drink to stir up some trouble. It's just a hunch on Ronin's part, though.
